Somehow this year the room of requirements was found a lot. There were a LOT of students with lots of requirements this year, and the year didn't even start yet.
The beautiful red head wore nothing that showed her house. She wore comfortable, loose-fitting kick pants, a sports bra, t-shirt, helmet and gloves.
She shuffled her feet and danced around the matt like a vicious praying mantis ready for the kill. Her cheeks were flushed and sweat soaked her.
The practice partner advanced and threw a vicious kick at her head, which she ducked under and delivered a spinning kick that took her opponents legs out from under him. As it landed on it's back she spun and drove her elbow HARD into it. There was a sound like bones breaking.
She leapt to her feet easily and was ready as the next opponant attacked. She took one look at the face and threw a whipping kick that hit her foe's chin. There was a snap, like a breaking neck, and the foe fell to the ground with it's neck at an impossible angle. It had Hawkes's face, just like the rest of the pile of dead opponents.
"Room - pause sequence !" she said and she walked to a table and poured herself water. SHe was listening carefully for the approach of the next opponent that the room would throw at her - ready to strike.

Duncan went to the room of requirements to mountain climb again, but he found the door open again. He dreaded the drama that might be waiting for him. He peaked in carefully around the corner. He saw Katie kick a form and heard a neck snap. He took a deep breath.
When Katie stopped the fighting, Duncan took a careful step in and saw that dead-Hawkeses ( plural of Hawkes ) laid all over the place.
He walked in "Um.. Katie... I guess you're taking out you're ... feelings for Hawked ? Are you OK ?" he said feeling stupid.

As soon as Katie heard a sound she whipped around ready to strike. She saw and heard Duncan. She tried to smile. She failed.
"hi duncan." she said flatly. "yea, hawkes and hawkes and more hawkes... pathetic, huh ?"
Now that somebody saw the results of her rage she felt even stupider than before, if that was possible. "um..."
"I didn't know what else to do... I don't really have.. anybody to talk to so I guess I tried to work it out." She rubbed her cheek where it was bright red. It looked like she was hit there.
She turned away from Duncan "could I ...." she turned and looked at him with pleading eyes. "could i cry on you a little ?"

Part of Duncan wanted to turn and run as fast as he could, or perhaps obliviate Katie so that she wouldn't remeber he was here. Part of Duncan's problem seemed to be that he really was a decent fellow.
"Yea, sure. What are freinds for ?" he said and opened his arms to hug Katie.

Katie's lips trembled and tears gushed from her eyes. She dove into Duncan's arms and almost knocked them both to the ground.
"i'm not a stupid girl" Katie cried onto Duncan. "i attracked a lot a boys ! how did hawkes make me so.. STUPID!" she wailed.
she held onto Duncan and cried and babbled incoherently about her and about hawkes and about'how could i be so stupid' and seemed to cry and whine forever, even though it was probably about 20 minutes.

Katie cried on Duncan and he stroked her hair and gentley rocked back and forth and let her get it all out of her system.
He occasionally tried to softly reassure her with statements like "everybody makes mstakes" and "he was a good actor, he had everybody fooled".
He held her as long as she needed him too, but he was really hoping to escape the drama soon.

Katie had herself a good cry.
Then she stood straight and took a step back. "Thanks. " she said. "I could use a freind."
"Would you be my friend ? Would you really like me knowing that we are freinds and that we won't... get romantic ?"
Her expression was a mix of sad and hopeful. "I don't know anybody that ... likes me as a person. Everybody seems to want a pretty toy to play with. Is that you Duncan ? Or could you really like me ?"

Duncan began to laugh a deep and hardy laugh. "I would love to be your friend Katie. I need friends too. I need a way to get away from all the freakin drama and from phoneis like Hawkes."
"He fooled all of us." Dunan said "Fooled me different from you. But he fooled us all."
"SO I'll make a deal with you." Ducan said extending a hand to Katie "I don't try to make romance at you and you don't try to make romance at me. We can be a 'no drama' zone. Deal ?"

Katie's smile covered her whole face. She grabbed Duncan's hand "DEAL !" she said loudly and shook his hand firmly.
She let go and smiled at him. "It will be good to have a freind around here." she said. "And I promise not to chase after you, but you ARE cute." she said, teasing but meaning it. "If Hawkes didn't mess everything up I mighta went after you." she said.
"I gotta get cleaned up. I'm a mess." she said. "First I fight for an hour then I cry for an hour. I need a shower. Let's get outta here." and she started walking to the door.
Her opponents began to fade away.

"You're cute too." Duncan said with no modesty at all. "I guess we'll just have too deal with it." and he smiled and shrugged as they walked out the door and it disappeared.
"COuld you teach me how to fight like that ?" Duncan asked. "That looks like a great addition to the DADA classes here."
Then Duncan laughed and said "Yea, you do need a shower. I can smell you from here after that work out. So you grab a shower and I'll see ya later."
He began to walk away.
