Somehow Duncan missed them both as he entered and went for a section marked 'Archaic Ritual'. "Well there aren't enough days in the week." he said with a laugh as he went digging through the books.
He felt lucky that he was one of the few first years to be allowed to come to Hogwarts before the start of term, but it did have it's drawbacks. There did not seem to be a librarian.
He spotted two professors and, from the looks of them the fellow HAD to be Headmaster Coppergold. He approached them. "Excuse me sir, miss. My name is Duncan Mowbray and I'm trying to do a little research before we get tied up in classwork and I'm having trouble finding some books, though I do suspect that the books occassionally relocate themselves. "
"Will the libriarian be on the grounds any time soon."

Duncan looked at her and saw the warm smile on her face and had no idea why anybody as beautiful as her would be smiling so nice at a guy his age, so he blushed bright red and tried not to sound like an idiot "I, uh.. I heard some rumors about some magic I wanna research. It'll proably take a bunch of students and some teachers to do it because it's supposed to be old, like ancient old, magic."
He looked up "When the term starts could you maybe help ? Be our.. student advisor ?" and he hoped he didn't sound too bad.
OOC: per the headmaster the research won't start till start of term.

Exploration was a good thing. It let her get her bearings, and every new student, in Laelia's humble opinion, needed to know where the library was located. It would be a good idea to get started on her school work or just reading for the sake of reading. Maybe an introduction to Ancient Runes or Mythology.
She was a bit disappointed when she saw more people gathered inside. She should have expected it since classes had not started yet. And two of them looked older, much much older. Approaching them, she neatly inserted herself, inside the group. She made her apologies, "Pray, excuse me for the interruption but I wonder if you could point the way to the Ancient Runes section of the library."

Sleepy walked into the Library, glad he finally found this part of Hogwarts. When he entered, he looked around with amazement at all the books of wisdom he saw there. He saw a few professors sitting there and recognized his House Master Prof. Aislinn. It was the first time he actually met one of the professors. Previous days he had spent looking around the castle and having some adventures with his friend Duncan.
Sleepy walked up to Prof. Aislinn and asked her "Euh, Prof. Aislinn, I'm Sleepy, 1st year Gryffindor student. I'm looking for a book about mystics and the powers of the mind. Can you help me?"
