[Duncan Mowbray]

Duncan took his shrunken guitar out of a pocket when he entered the room. He took a look around and saw instraments from esquisite to bizarre. He had no idea what some of the were, they looked like skinned dead monsters with mouth pieces poked into them.

He walked towards the normal looking instruments and found a place to be comfortable.

"ANy preferences ?" Duncan adked Mist

[Mist LightRose]

Mist, smiling, shook her head. " No ... whatever you want, Duncan." she replied softly.

[Duncan Mowbray]

"Try this. " Duncan said as he began to play some Spanish guitar. "I learned this while we were in Brazil. My family moved around a lot and I've heard lots of traditional music from other countries."

[Mist LightRose]

OOC : You still there? Sorry I took so long ... continue?
IC : "You're lucky. My family treat me like I'm a beetle that deserves to be squished. Except in thier letters. That's why I'm dreading going home for Christmas." Mist sighed as the song finished. "How about this?" she asked, and strummend a much darker tune.
"My mood." Mist muttered, though she was smiling.

Duncan nodded as she played and added a sultry thread of his own to the music. It was dark but sensual.

"Sorry about your family." He said "Mine's great, but they might be out of the country for holidays. I might have to stay here. I should know by the Halloween ball."

[Mist LightRose]

"Score." grinned Mist, glad one of her friends should be staying as well as her, maybe. "I still have to owl by family to ask if I can stay. I would, whatever the answer." Mist grinned with a stubborn voice.
"Oh, pooh. Halloween ball. Thanks for reminding me, idjit," Mist laughed, in a voice that said she was NOT thankful for reminding her. "I'd hate to ask someone to dance. It's very nervewraking," she sighed. "At least you and Lilah are sorted!"

Mist felt she could talk to Duncan about the fact they were an item. She was slowly and happily managing to cure her crush on Duncan.

"So, where else have you been? I went to Cyprus when I was four, but they leave me out of holidays now."

"And when are you coming to climb mountians? You've not been there for a while." The song finished, and Mist played her own song, humming the tune and words under her breath. It was a dark and sad tune, which brought a tear to anyones' eye.
"Made this when I found out about you and Lilah," Mist smiled, "it was how I felt. Took me a while, y'know, getting over the shock of it and finally managing to stop crying enough to actually write it. But I pulled it together. I like it, really. And, can I say, you make a cute couple," And Mist grinned.
"Sorry I keep talking about it, though. Wanna hear the words?" she asked.

"I guees I can ask her for dance lessons." Duncan laughed. "I am fast on my feet, but never really had much reason to dance."

When Mist asked about places Duncan looked thoughtful. "We travelled a lot; Brazil, France, Bulgaria, China, the United States. The theory is that we will sit still till all the kids graduate, but my brother is only seven so Will's graduation is a long way off. "

Duncan smiled appreciatively "I'm glad you're doing better." he said "and i'm glad you think we are a cute couple. and I would like to hear the lyrics too."

"Ok," Mist smiled, "I'll try and remember," she joked. "It's called, 'My luck changed,'. And it's not all about you, keep that in mind."

"Luck isn't anybody's friend, Mist. Don't count on it."Duncan said. "Count on your freinds, count on yourself."

"And you mostly find what you're looking for. Look for happinessa and all that and you can find it. We been all doin the same ridiculous thing - looking for drama and finding it."

He hugged Mist gentley, supportively. "Let's just hang the drama and get on with the real stuff. OK ?"

and he tweaked her nose.

"Yeah yeah yeah." Mist muttered.

"I have not been looking for drama, Duncan! You think it was easy trying not to hit you and Lilah?!" Mist joked.

"I think I'm getting over it, Duncan. We would leave the drama, anyway."

Mist poked Duncan when he tweaked her nose.
"Poke." She grinned.

"OK, llet's leave the drama." he agreed. "So we can go with a musical or a comedy next. I think we could all use a good laugh ! But a lot of us are musical too."

[Mist LightRose]

"Yeah." Mist nodded.
"Poke." She poked Duncan again.
"Hehehe." She gave a fake laugh that sounded stupid.

"Do you like Quidditch? I'm getting taught the rules by Oliver. Cause I don't know the rules. Yet."

[Duncan Mowbray]

Duncan began to laugh at that question. "No, I think qudditch is ...silly at best. ANd Oliver nearly... well the difference in opinion nearly started a fist fight."

"I'll go to the matches and whatever team my freinds are on is the one I will cheer for, but I don't really care except I could go to some good victory parties."

[Mist LightRose]

Mist almost swore when she heard that. "Ok ... but yknow, Oliver isn't all bad. He's funny. He was teaching me how to fly a broom, right, 'cause I was going to just off the stands to look for a sign to see if Hawkes had been there ... "

Her voice faltered as she looked at Duncan to see how he'd react.

Duncan shook his head. "That guy must have been a brain vampire." Duncan said sadly "He sure made all the girls....yea."

"After you fell from a mountain in the room of requirements yoiu should know better than to make falls without precautions. And if you need to find Hawkes ALWAYS have help. He either flew away or walked away from a fall that would kill you or me... he 'does NOT seem human' or wizard or muggle. Personally if I ever see him I won't trust him till I know what he's up to and what he is."
