"Well I think your both kinda cool." she replied. "He's cute an all. You know, blue eyed blonde and all that. You're cute too." and she blushed. "And I never really new a muggle-born before. You kinda seem like, I don't know, like maybe you'd need somebody that knows things more than he would."
"I really wouldn't mind showin you around the wizard world." she was blushing a little less.
"But Duncan is my friend too." she added quickly. "A freind, ya know."

"You really think I'm cute." she asked softly, barely above a whisper. She played with her hair as she spoke. "I mean, my mom an my sisters are gorgeous. I hope that I can grow up to look that good."
She put a hand on the table, near Hawkes. Her other hand adjusted her hair. "You wouldn't just say something like that, would you ?"

Katie took a deep breathe and leaned forward and her lips touched his and she felt lightning run through her whole body - her first real kiss.
She sat back, very red, but not blushing.

When Hawkes left Katie stood up with a smile on her face. She didn't notice anything at all as she walked out, carried on the wings of her happiness.
