[Duncan Mowbray]

Duncan arrived at the womping willow. Nobody was there. "I suppose I went faster than Mist or she made a stop along the way." he said.

Bast meowed at him.

"I don't see anything particularly interesting here." he said as he watched the tree.

Bast began to walk around and the tree took a swing at her. The cat leapt quickly out of the way and ran to Duncan.

"Be careful, silly girl. Those branches looklike they could crush a griffon, let alone a little one like you."

He noted were the branched had smashed into the ground and went for a closer look. "I wonder what it's gaurding." he said to Bast as he carefully looked around beyond the willow's reach.

Mist had stopped along the way. She had remembered that she'd told Duncan she was going to the Whomping Willow. She hurried herself along and saw that Duncan was already there! She progressed and decided to try and make him jump.
"HI Duncan." Mist grinned, emphasizing the 'Hi.' "Oh, hello, Bast!" Mist cooed. "Wanna have a little fun with the tree? A little game Hawkes introduced me to."

Duncan was watching Bast too much to notice Mist sneak up on him. When she said "HI !" he leapt straight up.

He landed spun and had his wand pointed at her. He recognized her and put the wand away. "You scared me half to death." he laughed. "I guess I deserved that."

"I give you permission to startle me any time you want." Duncan said "I need to remember to stay alert."

When she mentioned a game he was curious. "So what's the game ?"

Grinning mischiviously, Mist said, "Guess, Duncan." No answer. "What did I say, before we left our workout? That's the climbing wall, by the way."

Duncan laughed and said "Jumping over branches on a womping willow."

He looked at her "I'll play if you can answer my question. Why is a womping willow here ? Womping willows are always far away from each other because the close ones fight until one is dead. But this one is here alone, nothing near it. and Hogwarts a History said that it was transplanted here."

He looked mischevious when he asked again "So why is THIS womping willow HERE ?"

Mist rolled her eyes delicatly.
"I heard someone talking," Mist said. "About Harry Potters' time. Professer Lupin was a werewolf, and scared of full moons. He was a werewolf before the mandatory age to attend Hogwarts, and, of course, they had to find a way to get him somewhere so he couldn't get that effect.
"They planted the Whomping Willow, and they got in by pressing somewhere with a stick. That way, in a tunnel, he'd transform back to a human." Mist paused, breathing harder slightly.
"And now I have answered your questions, care to play?" And Mist de-robed to her bra and underwear (in case her robes got torn), ready.

OOC: I think we need to get headmaster clarification of something before we go on with this. We players know everything in the books but I don't think that, in the wizard world, Harry agrred to have his life printed in a series of novels that our characters read.

Player knowledge and character knowledge are very different things. For example, the players of katie and lilah know that Hawkes is playing them both but the characters don't.

So I would like the headmaster to rule befoire we move on.

Duncan had seen girls in less clothes than that, some of the bikinis at the beach covered less than Mist's bra and panties - but it was her bra and panties.

He stared for a second, unable to get his brain to shift out of 'she is in her bra and panties' to any other gear. Then he shifted back to where he was. "ok" he said.

"That wasn't in History Of Hogwarts." Duncan said. "I need some new sources."

He began to disrobe. He stopped in his pants and a t-shirt. "I'll get new ones if I destroy them." he said.

He tried hard not to look at her, so he looked at the womping willow. "Jumping over limbs, huh ? SO what do you do, step out and duck a lot ?"

"Totally." Mist grinned. "Right, watch this!" she yelled, and leapt into the area of winding and twisting branches, ducking and jumping high. She finally roled back out of it, and turned to Duncan.
"Coming?" she asked.

"Yea, I think I can figure this out." he said as he moved up.

He stepped into the womping willow's range and it swang at where he was, but he was already out of the way and moving in a different direction.

He rooled and ducked and moved and stopped and dove across an area then rolled out of it's reach.

"Yea, I can figure this bugger out. If we both take turns and watch each other's moves we'll be able to get past this thing any time we want."

"Maybe we can stash some stuff in the shrieking shack." he said. Then stepped back. "You're turn."

Mist smiled, and ducked, and doged, and once even grabbed a branch, yelling, "Thanks, this is my stop." and let go, landing next to Duncan. "Your turn." and did something weird, she smiled. It wasn't the fact she smiled that was wierd, it was the way she smiled. It was kind of ...

a distant smile, like she was there, but she was really somewhere else thinking of something else. Duncan wondered how she amnaged to be somewhere else and not be killed by the womping willow.

But he had watched very carefully and was begining to figure things out. He put one foot within the tree's reach and it shot for him, exactly as he planned.

He dove in and out from between limbs and knew he had it right. The womping willow was comletely a creature, a thing of nature and had no higher brain function. It only worked on instinct and the instinct could be deciphered if you bother to study it.

Duncan got in close to the root and pushed on a knott. The tree went limp. "TADA !" Duncan shouted.

"Hey! You took the fun out the game!" she glared. "Joke. Yeah, I'll get dressed. Might be a good idea, yeah?" Mist giggled. "Come on. Let's see what we can do."

[Duncan Mowbray]

Duncan laughed. "Ya, I think clothes would be a good idea. Yer kinda too distracting in just the.. um, undies."

"And you can make a list of fun things so I don't spoil them for you." he added. "You're really distracting like that. I might have to buy you a bathing suite just to get through the year."

He pointed his wand at his stack "Acio - my clothes." and his pile of clothes flew to him.

He smiled at Mist "I didn't want to accidentlly steal all yer clothes."
