Mist was feeling a bit depressed, but didn't know why, which didn't help. She knew music was the only way to help.

"I like you a lot." Katie said as she walked in. "Especially the red hair !" Katie said as she came closer and tossled Mist's hair. "Not the same red as mine, but butiful and fiery anyway."
Katie flomped into one of the chairs. "Do you ever wonder if anybody likes you ?" she said sounding much less confident. "Or if maybe the only reason anybody notices you is because you'e cute ?" Katie's voice shook.

Mist blushed to the roots of her red hair. No-one was supposed to hear that! Struggeling to answer questions, she smiled at the compliment.
"Thanks, for the compliement, Katie."
"And, yeah. I always wonder ... but ... it's hard, isn't it? Annoying, trying to figure it all out."

Sighing at the 'no answer,' Mist picked up her guitar and started singing again.

"That's lovely." Duncan said as he walked in. "And kind of sad." he said looking at the two girls.
"And I do like you." he said to Mist. He looked at Katie, then back at Mist. "And no, it's not because you're nice to look at. Both of you ARE very attractive, but physically attractive doesn't mean that somebody is a worthwhile person."
Duncan took a seat and ask "Was that an original piece ? It sounded like it came from really deep within you. Like maybe you're sharin your soul with us...thanks for trusting us that much."

Mist jumped at the sound of Duncans' voice. Then she blushed, realising who it was. He liked her ... in what way? As a friend?

OOC: is this happening before or after the part whre duncan misheard part of what Mist said and jumped to the conclusion that Mist is lesbian ? or bi ? His reaction will be heavily based on the answer.

Katie smiled a Mist. "Duncan's right, it is beautiful." Katie said. "But be careful what you wish for Mist. A guy I thought I like kissed me like I wanted him to and it REALLY made a mess of things." Katie looked at the floor and blushed. "I was pretty stupid with Hawkes."
She looked up and tried to smile. "Well this is school and we are here to learn. I just didn't ... like that lesson." she said as tears began to form in her eyes.
