Sleepy strode into the Magical Creatures caretaking room and was looking for some food and toys to give his pet Drake.
"Ah, this preparation of lemons with chilli will be good for Eagle. He needs some strong spicy things."
Sleepy found a large ring and started teaching Eagle how to jump through it. "Come on, Eagle, retract your wings and jump in here." As soon as Eagle went through the ring, he flapped open his wings and happily shrieked out.
'Iiiiiiiiiiik."

Charlotte watched through a window, enjoying the show. She loved all forms of dragons and drakes, but her parents forbid her from having one. So instead, she was given a 2o foot green cobra, which she kept in a bag wrapped around her neck. (the bag was bigger on the inside) She spoke Parletongue, so she was able to control the huge beast. She let him out, hissing happily. He curled around her feet, taking one of the dead weasels she offered him.

Sleepy saw a girl coming in the room, accompanied by a green snake and felt like introducing himself.
He said "Hi, I'm Sleepy, I just arrived at Hogwarts, so I don't know so many students around yet." Sleepy saw his pet drake opening his mouth wide and dropping in a rat he catched.
"What's your name?" Sleepy asked the girl "and do you know what house you'll be in yet?"
Sleepy had the impression his drake didn't like the snake very much, since he started flapping his wings violently.

"Hey Duncan" Sleepy saw his best friend coming in the room " do you want to learn about Eagle's nature?"
Upon Duncan nodding his head, Sleepy started to talk "In my previous school, I learned a lot about biology of magical creatures" he said with some pride "Eagle is a male dragon baby, he's one month old, and he's not breathing fire yet, in fact some dragons don't, but in case he does, we'll have some spell to protect ourselves, huh?"
The two boys were laughing.
"He loves spicy and sour food, and some rats from time to time."
Sleepy also revealed that Eagle was bound to him through a magic bond, since dragons only come out of their egg when their master is becoming present in their life.

Duncan shook his head. "Not all dragons bond, most don't. Rumor is that a previous grounds keeper named Ruebeus Hagrid had a baby norwegian ridge-back that was born in his hut. I heard that Hagrid quit his job hear to move to work at the Romanian dragon colony."
Duncan took a good look at Drake " A bonded dragon is special and amazing. But he'll be mostly helpless for a long time. You'll really need to teach him and protect him. There are creatures in the forbidden forest that could swallow him in one bite and think he's tastey."

Sleepy shook his head and told Duncan "No, he's not helpless at all! The bond between us is that like dragon and his rider. Only if something happens to me, say like, I get killed or so, then he will also die. It's possible I lose him too, but soon he'll be a big dragon and he'll be strong and eat the creatures in the Forbidden Forest,rather than they will eat him, hahaha."
Sleepy was laughing heartily and Eagle did a big yawn, showing how strong he is.
"Hagrid, yeah, I've heard of him, he is not here anymore?"
Sleepy took a creature that looked like a frog and fed it to his drake.

"Well I guess it depends on how you define soon." Duncan replied. "Dragon's life span is a couple of centuries and it takes them decades to reach adulthood."

"But they do grow fast" Sleepy said "look, 2 months ago he just came out of his egg and he is already becoming a big boy."
Sleepy took his pet drake in his arms and gave him a big hug.
"I'm sure before Christmas comes, I'll be flying on Eagle" Sleepy said, with an excitement in his voice as if he imagined himself already sitting on the back of his drake and roaming the heavens above Hogwarts.
"I only wonder where the headmaster of Hogwarts will allow me to keep him" Sleepy frowned his eyebrows and sat down, unsure what the future would bring to his relation with Eagle.
