Duncan and Lilah arrived at the headmaster's door. Duncan knocked on the door. "Headmaster. We were in the forbidden forest and we NEED to talk to you. Professor Fandale might be lost in the forest sir !"

James opened the door. "What are talking about? Why is Professor Fandale lost?" The two students walked into the office and sat down in the two chairs in front of James's desk. "Now, please, one student, calmly explain."

Duncan took a deep breath. "I saw professor Fandale go into the forbidden forest and I... my curiousity got the better of me and I followed."
"She noticed me and stopped me and while we were talking this music. I couldn't resist following it and I found Lilah and we both followed it. For some reason Professor Fandale didn't."
"When we finaly caught up with the musician he calimed to be Pan, the mythical greek god. He told us he had been playing his song of the spheres for ages and the last wizard to find him was Merlin. He taught us part of the song and said we'd need to learn it to postpone the end of all things."
"Then he said he'd be back and he left. We came back here but couldn't find Professor Fandale. The last time we saw her was in the forbidden forest."
He looked over at Lilah. "Did I miss anything ?"

"He did say that." Duncan said. He appeared to be blushing a bit. "He .. at least hinted... that we could match or surpass Merlin. He also said that Merlin was a talented musician."
"It was a lot about the music of the spheres. It sound to me like he was talking about some kind of cosmic or universal magic. We may need to talk with professor Sedgelock about it, the whole 'Pan' thing."
He looked at the professor "How will you check on Professor Fandale ?"

The Headmaster looked at the two young students. "I do appreciate your concern for your teacher. I will be alerting the fellow staff members of her disappearance. " the Headmaster said, taking out a piece of parchment and a quill from a drawer in his desk. He began to write. "Thank you for alerting me of this situtation. It will be handled as appropriate." Saying this, the Headmaster smiled at Lilah and Duncan. "Remember, you can always come and see me whenever there is a problem. Would you care for a Jolly Rancher?"

Duncan grabbed a fist full of jolly ranchers. "Thanks sir."
He stood up to go. "If we talk to Pan again we'll tell you." and duncan headed for the door.
