The following information will be split into two sections: Labs (meaning the laboratory session you attend by going to class and completing the set potion) and Assignments (meaning the homework set for you following the Lab).
RULES -- • Classes will be posted every Monday. Students have until the following Monday to attend. Attendance will be taken into account when figuring grades. • If, for any reason, a student can not make it to class a PM must be sent to Professor Brayden Mellor with the reason for the absence and when we should expect you back. GUIDELINES -- • As it does take time for me to prepare the day's lesson, I would appreciate it if students also took the time to reply. This means that the more you write, the better. Don't simply follow the steps of the potion. You should also expand and tell us maybe how the student feels or what they're wearing or maybe even what the potion smells like. • If more than once student posts before I get a chance to answer a question posed by the first student, I will EDIT the first student's post rather than answer both in a single post at the end. This helps me avoid confusion. I do go in order though, so if there is a new post made by me and you weren't the last to post, then there's a chance I've already gone and EDITed in a reply to you.
RULES -- • Assignments will be posted the day following the start of class which should typically be on Monday. If the assignment hasn't been posted by Wednesday, please PM Professor Mellor as a friendly reminder. • Assignments are due by the start of the following class. That means they should be PMed to the professor by no later than Sunday 11:59pm PST. Exceptions to this rule are absences the professor has been told about and illness. GUIDELINES -- • Time should be taken when completing these assignments. They shouldn't, however, take a student longer than thirty minutes to complete. • If a student is having any problems with the assignment, they should PM Professor Mellor so that he may clarify.
LABS -- • Labs are made up of two five point grades. The first five points is given if the student attends the class. The second five are given depending on how well they complete the lab. • Again, if, for any reason, a student can not make it to class a PM must be sent to Professor Brayden Mellor with the reason for the absence and when we should expect you back. A make-up will be put together for the student in question so that they may also receive the ten Lab points. ASSIGNMENTS -- • Assignments are graded out of ten points. • Completed assignments will be sent back to each student with a posted grade at the bottom. Rather than using the a numeric score, the following will be used: O (Outstanding) -- 90-100%, E (Exceeds Expectaions ) -- 80-89%, A (Acceptable) -- 70-79%, P (Poor) -- 60-69%, D (Dreadful) 50-59%, T (Troll) -- 0-49%
