The Meet Up (Laelia, Brooke and Open)

[Brooke Edwards]

Wandering towards the Library, Brooke was excited to see Laelia again. Laelia was her only friend, so far. Well, other than Duncan, but Brooke wished he was more than just a friend. Brooke had left Laelia on the Quidditch field the day before wishing that Laelia had been in her Herbology class.

Brooke had written Laelia a letter asking for her to meet her in the Library. She had some things to look up for Herbology anyways. She also wanted to tell Laelia all about Duncan and what she thought of him.

Brooke hair was a bright blue colour when she entered the Library with a skip in her step. She had bright orange eyes and was trying on a bit of a new nose, she had made it a little smaller and less pointed. Brooke sat down at a table and waited, looking around for Laelia and getting a little impatient.

Laelia had received a note from Brooke arranging a meeting in the library. She brought her potions textbook with her to revise the class assignment and draft her homework assigned by Professor Mellor.

After she passed by the library entrance, she stopped near the librarian's desk hoping to catch sight of the Hufflepuff. Bright blue flashed and she turned abruptly following the color till she saw her friend. Today, she had bright blue hair and- Laelia squinted- orange eyes.

Adopting a quiet tone of voice, she greeted her, "Hello, Brooke. How was your first day?" She placed her bag on the desk and took out her textbook and some parchment, ink and quill.

Having found a book about Mystical Hypnosis, Sleepy noticed the 2 girls behaving a bit secretly. This drew his attention and so he went up to them and asked "Hi, what are you 2 up to? Found any interesting books over here?"

Sleepy saw the girls looking over to the restricted area of the Library and thought that maybe they got something from in there.

"I'm gonna do some reading about the mystical powers of the mind, because I had this weird thing going on in the...." now he whispered "Forbidden Forest, where I saw a vision of Hermione, you know, the One...."

Brooke smiled when she saw Laelia. She was so glad to have one of those; a friend. Brooke noticed Laelia's potion book and shuddered and she was suddenly thankful that she didn't have to take potions. That was something that didn't require a wand and Brooke could sense herself not being very good at it.

"My first class was wonderful!" Brooke said, trying not to sound too much like a muggle-born. "I had Herbology and it was great! The teacher was pretty strict, but she was also nice. I sat near the back, so I didn't get a very good view, but she was interesting." Brooke was doing that speed talking thing.

Then Brooke stopped talking when she saw an odd looking boy walking towards them. Brooke smiled, seeing the Griffindor crest on his robes. Maybe he knew Duncan.

"Hi," Brooke said simply. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Brooke," She then listened to what he whispered about the Forbidden Forest and then stifled a giggle. That sounded pretty crazy.

Laelia nodded absently as Brooke prattled on. She had had Professor Power for her Ancient Runes class and did agree with her friend. Firm and stern, the head of Gryffindor was. Ironically, at that moment, a Gryffindor boy showed up, asking some inane query about books and muttering some statements about the Forbidden Forests, Hermione Granger and visions. It made her confused and willing to question his sanity. She didn't hoping there would be something that would make this random encounter worthwhile.

Coolly, she said, "My friend is right, we haven't met at all, so pardon me, while we inquire who you are. I'm Laelia Lule. I'm afraid that we were about to get started on a class work. Though you tale does sound..." she paused, "interesting."

Sleepy liked the girls at Hogwarts, they were nice and interesting. He had seen Brooke changing her hair colors from the corner of his eye, while he had been talking with Professor Power in the Library.

"Hello Brooke and Laelia" he said "sorry, let me introduce myself, my name is Sleepy and I saw you were talking with Duncan, so I thought to come and meet you girls. You know, I just had Arithmancy class by Prof. Coppergold, it was very interesting, we analysed our names and so I understood why I'm looking for everybody to be my friend."

Sleepy paused for a moment, looking at Brooke's changing hair.

"You are a metamorphmagus?" Sleepy asked "I have been one too, well, I still am, I used to change into a dragon when I was a young child, my mother told, but I had to be stopped because I was causing too much trouble..." Sleepy made a green grin.
"Perhaps I can regain my status when I will be able to control myself"

[Jaslyn Blink]

Jaslyn Blink walked over to the group. "Hello... has anybody seen my golden gobstones?"

Brooke smiled at Sleepy's enthusiasm. She thought that he seemed really nice. When he mentioned becoming a dragon Brooke looked at him. She'd never heard of that. Wasn't that more along the lines of animagus as opposed to metamorphmagus? Brooke wondered, but she didn't really care.

"Arithmancy?" Brooke asked. "I just signed up for that class. It sounds amazing. I guess I'll have to sit with you on Thursay then." Brooke's eyes flashed to more of a green colour.

When the other girl came towards them Brooke simply said,

"Sorry we haven't seen your gobstones," She then turned back to Sleepy.

A dragon? Sleepy's claim did seem a bit ...outlandish. Laelia decided not to voice it. She did perk up at the mention of Arithmancy. She said, "Ah, then I shall you both of you as well. I received permission to take another course."

When a girl came up to them, she glanced at her. A new girl that she did not know that well. She let Brooke tackle her question and shook her head when the metamorphmagus answered. No, no Gobstones here.

[Sleepy Dragonwood]

Sleepy saw the new girl coming and said "No, I haven't seen any gobstones here either. How do they look like?"

He continued to the girls "Yes, a dragon it is! Hmm, yeah, that would be an animagus, I keep on mixing terms together, but ultimately the difference isn't that big, huh? Matter of changing into other forms...."

Sleepy laughed to himself "Last class of Arithmancy, in my homework, I wrote squidicch instead of Quidditch, hahaha". Sleepy realized there was a lot to learn in the world of magic still. His childhood had been so simple, his parents did all the spells for him, even on him to protect him.

"I should consider taking a couple of other lessons too, since two of my classes were canceled already. What is going on in Hogwarts? All the professors disappeared?" Sleepy looked very worried and looked at Laelia's book.
"Herbology, huh? Any other classes you girls are taking?"

Laelia refrained from rolling her eyes at Sleepy's self deprecating remark on his spelling. Honestly, how hard was it to spell Quidditch.

She noticed him glancing at her book, and at his question spoke up, "Herbology? Oh no, I'm doing Potions. Brooke," she pointed to the other girl," is taking that subject. I'm taking DADA, Mythology, Ancient Runes and Arithmancy."

As Brooke smiled at Sleepy, it began to fade slowly. His conversation had been interesting, but it was obvious that Laelia didn't like him. Brooke also wanted to talk to Laelia in private. She had some things to tell her.

"Well," Brooke continued. "I'm also taking Transfiguration, Charms, Arithmancy and Defence Against the Dark Arts. I'm enjoying all my classes so much. Arithmancy has been really interesting." Brooke stopped and heard his comment about the Charms and Transfiguration classes.

"Yeah, I was wondering about that," Brooke said, a little blindly. "I was really looking forward to both of those classes." She sadly looked down at her books.

Then she looked at Laelia with a pleading look. She really wanted to talk to her in private, but how? Brooke twiddled her thumbs while thinking of ideas.
