HALLOWEEN BALL - OPEN

Katie was REALLY surprised when a 3rd year Slytherin boy asked her to dance. She accepted and danced with him. When she was facing Lilah she mouthed 'do you know this guy ? is he OK ?'

Lilah laughed and noticed the 3rd year boy Darrin asked Katie to dance. He is cool and sweet, just what katie needs

'Yes' She mouthed to katie and looked back at the love of her life

Mist felt unwanted, not getting asked, so she muttered, 'had agreat time, cya,' to Katie, then drooped away.What a great night. NOT.

[Duncan Mowbray]

OOC: we should finish the halloween ball soon to start the christmas ball !

As Mist was slumping out she found Professor Power, tall and blonde and devistatingly gorgeous, blocking her path. "And where is my Gryfindor girl shlepping of too ? All wounded and defeated ? I will gaurentee that there is at LEAST one boy in there that you would like to dance with. So does a gryfindor run away or does she go ask a boy that she's interested in for a dance ?"

Duncan took both of Lilah's hands in his and was leading Lilah through some simpler steps of swing dancing. He seemed to be having a blast. His eyes glowed warm with delight as they mett Lilah's. "See, you can dance, just don't be affraid of new things." he said. IN one of the turnes as his face was close to hers he kissed her lips and kept dancing.

He waved at Katie dancing wildly with some slytheirng guy. He looked older and Duncan hoped the boy was smart enough to not hurt his adopted sister.

As a handsome stranger walked behind Professoer Power and slipped his hand under her waist, the Professor spoke again. "Don't be affraid, little one, or be happy with the choices you make from fear." The professor let the handsome dark haired fellow sweep her onto the dance floor.

Katie mouthed "thanks" to Lilah and danced with Darrin. He was a decent dancer. He didn't look stupid and didn't kick or step on anybody, so that was OK.
"So...?" Katie said. 'brilliant' she thought.
Darrin smiled at her "YOU'RE CUTE WHEN YOU'RE EMBARRASSED !" he yelled over the music.
Katie blushed brighter than her flame red hair. "You're a slytherin !" she said.
"If that's a problem then why didya say yes when I asked for a dance ?" he asked, still smiling, kinda teasing.
"Well, I thought slytherins only liked purebloods." she answered, feeeling like a idiot.
"Then I'm in trouble." he said. "I'm a half blood. I'm not evil, I just know what I want and have the will to go for it."
"Like me ?" Katie asked.
"yes, like you." Darrin answered. He stopped dancing and looked at her face. "You ARE beautiful.. and talented and smart and dangerous. You are a very..."
He took a deep breathe.
The music turned to a slow song and Katie leaned into him. "We don't haveta talk right now."
He wrapped his arms around he and smiled. "No, we don't." and they moved with the music.

"Yea well you're pretty," muttered Mist to no-one in particular when Professer Powers started dancing. Pouting, she turned and placed her head ona wall, then stared kicking the wall gently.
"Stupid no good night," she muttered to herself. She turend round and stuck her tongue out to the boy who kicked her in the head, then returned to kicking the wall.

[Lilah Delancy]

Lilah was having the time of her life dancing with Duncan but saw Mist in a slump

"Babe, I know ti's our night but i want to dance with Misty." Lilah tried putting her award winning smile into it to make it better.

She walked to mist before she left anf grabbed her hand

"Come on pretty lady we didnt dressup for nothing!" Lilah said as she started to grab mist's hand and dance with her and then a faster up beat song came on, Duncans words repeated in her head dont be afriad to try new things.

"Wanna show everyone what we got?" Lilah put her slytherin smirk on and winked at katie. Katie had the same idea

"NO, Lilah. Just go backto Duncan and don't pity me. It's your night."
She turned back and continued kicking the wall.

"NO! Your my best friend and Duncan is willing to wait." Lilah said taking steps behind her.

"You leave so do i." Lilah said

Duncan poured a drink of punch as he watched Mist and Lilah. He hoped Lilah could help and he wished more boys would pay attention to Mist. The problem with first year boy is that they're mostly more affraid of talking to a girl than fighting a monster.

"Hey cutie." a girl said from behind Duncan. He turned around and saw a ravenclaw girl. He had no idea who she was but he was pretty sure she was a third year. She wore a very revealing 'princess jasmin' costume. It accentuated her curves nicely.

"Uh, hi." he replied.

"You are rilly hot in the martial arts fighter costume. It sure shows those muscles." said the girl as she stepped closer. Her fingers ran up Duncan's tummy.

Duncan stepped away and backed into the table. He had no direction to run.

The girl twirled her long raven hair in her fingers and smiled hungrily. "I see why so many girls notice you. You ARE cute. I'm Miranda - you're new girlfreind."

"I don't think so." he said and began to walk around her.

She stepped in front of him with remarkable speed and said "Don't think- just act." and she pushed herself against him and kissed him full on the lips with a great deal of aggression.

Duncan was so startled it knocked him to the ground and she landed on top of him. Lips still locked together.

Out of sight a there was laughter. A male voice whispered "You know you can go to azkaban for that."

A voice answered "Only if I'm caught."

OOC: they won't be caught yet.

"You say I'm pretty Lilah." Mist glared, "If I'm pretty why does no boy here ask me to dance? Hmmm? Tha's right. I'm not."
Mist was infact hurt no-one asked her to dance.
"I'm always the odd one out. Duncan picks you then Katie gets whisked away. I'm leaving. There's no point in staying when no-ones even thinking about asking me>" She tried to leave.

Katie saw that something was going on between Mist and Lilah. She turned to Darrin "I gotta see my friends. OK ?"

The CUTE slytherin 3rd year boy nodded and said "Yea, that's OK." he took her hand and started to walk with her.

That's when she saw some Ravenclaw 3rd year SKANK climbing on top of Duncan and trying to suck his face. Duncan looked like he was trying to get out from under the TRAMP without hurting the little B-witch! Katie shook her head. Duncan was just too nice.

"GET OFF MY BROTHER YOU SLUT !!" Katie roared.

The girl on top of Duncan ignored her so Katie pulled out her wand "Lingardium Leviosa !" and she swished and flicked and the BIMBO floated off of Duncan. Duncan was on the floor and looked grateful and relieved.

"PUT ME DOWN !" Miranda screamed loud enough to be heard in the whole hall. "I WAS SNOGGING MY BOYFREIND !!!"

Katie looked at her and smiled slyly. "OK" she said and dropped the girl on the table with all of the snacks. Katie was careful and aimed Miranda's face at a large cake. The girl landed with a splat.

"You will DIE for that !" Miranda screamed.

OOC: Duncan, I just borrowed you a tiny bit. Hope it was OK.

OOC: I would recomend that Mist and Lilah saw and heard the part with Katie, Duncan and Miranda.
OOC2: I need to borrow Katie just a little. Since you borrowed me I figure you'd let me borrow you.

Some things about Duncan could be down-right scary. When he heard Miranda threaten Katie, he was SCARY. He moved like lightning and put himself between Miranda and Katie with a very obvious the-only-way-to-get-her-is-through-me !

Venom and ice dripped from his voice when he said "Nobody threatens my sister."

Miranda turned white as a sheet.

Duncan almost seemed to glow as he stood between the girls. The music stopped and everybody seemed o be watching.

Katie put her hands on Duncan's shoulders, perhaps to calm him and perhaps to keep him from kiling the other girl. "Duncan, I'm OK ! She wasn't REALLY threatening to kill me !" Katie actually giggled. "Anybody with a face full of cake would threaten to kill somebody."

Miranda's color began to return but she looked terrified of Duncan. "I... wouldn't really hurt her... I'd yell but I could never hurt your sister...I love you too much."

Duncan's fist tightened. It looked for all the world like he held a lightning bolt in his fist.

"Oh my." said Professor Power.

OOC: MIST and LILAH - PLEASE notice this. Anybody else here notice it too.

Lilah was about to say something to mist but she heard some commotion, she turned to see a ravenclaw girl on top of Duncan. Lilah couldnt take the rest so she ran out she didnt see the rest before she left she muttered

"I have to go." She said quickly before mist could stop her.

She ran all the way to her dorm to change out of her costume. She put a pair of Sweat pants on and a long sleeved shirt and a Slytherin scarf.

Then she ran to the only place she could think, The music room.

Katie saw Duncan's hang and knew she had to do something. "Wingardium Leviosa !" she said and levitated the punch bowl. She moved it quickly.

When it was over Duncan she flipped it over and yelled "COOL IT - STUPID !" and the punch poured over his head.

Duncan was too surprised to stay angry and he swung around and looked at Katie. She started to laugh. He started to laugh. "Thanks." he said.

He looked around. "Where's Lilah ?" he asked.

Darrin said "I saw her watchin you with princess Jasmin and she bolted."

Katie hung her head "great, just great."
