Drawing my first visit to Diagon Alley to a close I entered the store on the last stop for today - Ollivander's. The heavy air presses in on me as I enter the wooden store, which is covered in a vail of dust all round, setting of the bell above the door to chime my arrival. Approaching the large counter covered with boxes and rogue pieces of paper I await the presence of Mr. Ollivander himself. From the corner of my eye I see an old little man climbing down a ladder and approaching me surprisingly fast for his age. After introducing himself to me and explaining the way the wand chooses the wizard and not the other way around, he hands me the first wand I am to try out. A flash of red light erupts from the tip and blast straight into the wall leaving a unique carving on the wall in its wake. I set the wand down as quickly as possible and gulp, but Mr Ollivander assures me there are no worries and that its fine. He scurries to the back of the shop to go and find me my ideal wand . . . So here I am awaiting for his return with a wand suitable for me and looking at the strange wall clock slowly ticking away 13; 13; 13; 13 ticks per interval and pondering this strange piece of equiptment and what the meaning behind it is.
