Mist nodded and followed, her wand out, creeping caustiously. She looked at Brookes' paper and pencil. She'd heard Brooke was excellent at drawing. She hoped she could manage to see some.

Brooke was glad that it was daytime. She was mortally afraid of the dark, but she knew if they stayed on the outskirts of the forest it wouldn’t get too dark. She really liked forests in the daytime, because her Uncle Bryan lived out in the country. Brooke didn’t think that she would see anything too monstrous. She had heard that centaurs lived it the forest, but they were extremely territorial and Brooke hoped they didn’t run in to any of them. Unfortunately, they did.
Brooke was following a dirt path in the woods when she heard hooves in the distance. Brooke opened her eyes wide and turned to Mist. “It might be the Centaurs!” Brooke was a little bit afraid, but mostly excited. She grabbed Mist and pulled her behind a wide tree. The hooves stopped just on the other side. It didn’t sound like there were too many of them. Brooke put her finger to her mouth to tell Mist to be silent and then she started to quietly climb up in to the tree.
Once Brooke got high enough she saw the most amazing thing beneath her. There was a female centaur with her foul, lying next to her. They both looked exhausted. Brooke had her sketchbook out and she began to draw them both as the sat there. This is amazing, Brooke thought. She had her eyes wide with excitement. Her hair was the same brown colour as the tree and she had made her skin extremely tan so that she blended in with the foliage.

"Omigod!" Mist mouthed excitedly.
Mist got so scared whenBrooke 'dissappeared' -so scared she started clambering up the tree herself.
"Brooke!" Mist started hissing, "Wh- Wow!" Mist caughtsight of the miricale happening below. "It's beautiful! Draw it, Brooke!"

Brooke turned to Mist in the tree with her and placed her fingers to her lips again. She turned back and noticed that the centaurs still hadn’t heard them or smelled them. Brooke was very thankful for that. She began her sketch slowly and neatly. It was a little difficult for her in the tree, but Brooke did it anyways.
Suddenly the tree shook and Brooke had to hold on to one of the branches to keep from falling out. Her heart was pounding has she waited for the source of the quaking to appear. It sounded like a million horse hooves coming their way. The mother centaur began to cry and looked in all directions. The foal beneath her feet stood up and hid between her ankles. They both looked terrified. Brooke knew this wasn’t good.
About twenty or more male centaurs began to step through the trees. Brooke could see them crowding in a circle around the mother and foal. Brooke was very glad that she and mist had climbed up in to the tree. She mother stood up strong and wiped the tears from her eyes bearing her teeth.
“Esmerla,” One of the males stepped forwards with a spear in his hand. His voice was strong and he appeared to be the leader among them. “You know what you have done. Stealing the male foal before we take him in to our custody. Do you know this?” He stood up tall and seemed to tower over the female.
“He’s too young Fenir,” The mother pleaded. “He’s not ready to leave me! You have no right to take a young innocent one from his mother! You and your “army” have been acting like you own everything!” She was nearly screaming at the male. Brooke opened her eyes wide. What was going on here? This was amazing. She turned to look at Mist, before looking back of the scene to see what else would happen.

'Crap,' thought Mist as the tree shook.
The centaurs were talking as the female screamed at the male.
"You can't just take him away! He's only a foal! Leave him in peace!" The females' pleads were low and almost growling.

Brooke couldn’t think what to do. She longed to help the mother and her foal they looked so helpless. She hadn’t learned enough magic to defend them either. She simply stared, flipping over a page in her sketchbook and she started to draw the large male. Once they were able to leave she was going to have to tell someone about this centaur problem. She wondered if the Headmaster knew about it.
“You will pay for your crimes, Esmerla.” The male had no sympathy towards her. He simply looked down at the foal, which was crying at his mother’s feet. “Now hand over the foal and we’ll lessen your sentence.” He took a step forward and stood waiting her reply.
“You will never take him from me!” She screamed. The mother was sounding much stronger and she pounded one of her hooves in to the ground. Brooke felt the tree shake again and her pencil slipped, putting a line through the male’s face.
Then the mother saw a familiar face in the surrounding males. She cried out, looking at a smaller male, with a white coat and golden hair. His eyes were a deep emerald colour. Brooke flipped another page and did a quick sketch of him as well. Her wrist was really beginning to hurt.
“Kireze!” She cried to him. “How could you do this? To your own son! You can’t let him control us!” She was crying as the male she cried to began to frown, looking concerned. Brooke thought that he looked torn between what to do. She wondered how this whole scene would turn out.

Duncan had been in the forrest, heading towards the safe-place that Pan showed him and Lilah. He heard the sound of the 'disagreements' between the centaurs. He headed towards the noise, unable to resist the pull of his curiosity.
He walked up behing Mist and Brooke. "Bloody hell." he said. 'This did NOT look good'. he thought.
Part of him knew that he should stay out of this and let it unfold as it would. But he could almost feel the song of the woods and the music of the spheres pumping in his blood and keeping rythm with his heartbeat.
His lips opened and the sound poured out of him like a flood, a raging river, a summer storm. He felt the power flowing up through him as the song of Pan flowed from him.
He couldn't see that his eyes glowed blue, REALLY glowed blue, and that the air around him seemed almost electrified.
OOC: I have no idea how anybody will react to this, including centaurs. Brooke, please keep running the centaurs. Lilah - no matter where you are in hogwarts you can hear this - maybe even feel it.

Brooke was entirely engrossed, up in the tree watching the centaurs. She didn’t even see Duncan come in to the forest. She sat forwards and watched the scene continue before Duncan got too close.
“Please Kireze!” The mother was pleaded with who Brooke assumed was the father. “He’s your son!” The foal at her feet hid and looked out at the male who the female was pleading to. Brooke watched the small male look at the child and then she saw that his mind was made up. The male forced his way through the group and stood between the leader and the mother.
“Do you know what you have done Kireze?” The leader asked, looking as though this was some joke. “Now your whole family will have to pay for your misdeeds.” Some of the males snickered and a few stamped their feet in impatience. They seemed ready to beat up these innocent centaurs. The mother walked towards the male, named Kireze, and he held her close. The foal stayed beneath her and they stood in the center as the other began to move in.
Brooke didn’t know what she should do. She wanted to help them, but she couldn’t think of anything. She was about to jump out of the tree into the center of the circle, when she heard,
“Bloody Hell,” Brooke looked down and spotted Duncan. She jumped out of the tree right next to him and cried, “What should we do Duncan? They’re going to kill them!” She looked at him, pleading.
Then the strangest thing happened. Duncan began to sing. Brooke frowned at first, but then her heart suddenly felt at peace. She smiled at Duncan and wondered what he could possibly be doing. She turned to look at the centaurs that had all turned to see their intruders. The leader was looking at Duncan with a look of alarm on his face.
“Im-impossible,” The leader said, backing away. He looked almost as though he’d seen a ghost. “That’s not possible.” With that, he turned and began to canter off through the woods. The other males stood still, watching the humans, some of them had a look of pleasure on their face, while others looked as though they were afraid.
Brooke looked at the mother centaur, but she had her hands over her ears. She had beckoned her son to do the same. Kireze had also followed her lead, but he looked at Brooke as though she was meant to do the same. Reluctantly, Brooke covered her ears and blocked to sound out. She suddenly didn’t feel happy anymore, but she still felt calm. Suddenly, Duncan’s eyes began to glow blue and he felt as though there was an electric charge around him. Then, as though there was a transfer of magic, the male centaurs ran off after their leader, leaving the family and the humans left in the clearing alone with Duncan’s singing.

"Bloody hell," Mist muttered, "What the hell is he doing?"
Mist had heard Duncans' singing before, on the Qudditch pitch when Hawkes had jumped off the stands.
"I'm going down," She whispered to Brooke, and as she got closer, she saw Duncans' eyes were blue, REALLY blue. Everyone had thier hands over thier ears, so Mist did the same.
'Where the hell is Lilah?' Mist thought, because she knew Lilah could probably hear this.
The centuars galloped off, and Mist watched them leave, removing her hands from her ears.

Duncan stopped singing when he heard Lilah approach, somehow over all the other sounds he knew he could hear HER approach.
He took his wand out and aimed it away from all the gathered creatures. "Wingardium Leviosa !he said. The ground began to tremble and a chunk of earth, roughly the size of Haggrid's hut, lifted from the ground in one piece, with trees still in it. It floated for a few seconds, then Duncan screached "AAAHHHH!" in a yelp of pain and dropped his wand. The ground fell and impacted into the whole that it made.
Duncan held his wand-hand at the wrist and looked at the burns on his palm and fingers, second degree at least. "DamndamndmandmanDAMN THAT HURTS!"
He fell onto the ground, drenched in sweat and looking as if he had run miles. OOC: His wand is undamaged and now cool to the touch.

The leaves in the trees seemed to tremble with Lilah's song. Birds seemed to join in to sing with her. Duncan looked at her and smiled and he knelt towards her.
A fine mist, thinner than a fog, but very visible, began to come out of Lilah as she sung. Duncan inhaled it and he got closer and closer to Lilah and there lips met. The song ended with Duncan gentley kissing Lilah. He held he in his arms.
OOC: right now lilah should feel as tired as if she walked from the dungeaons to gryfindor tower and back again times ten.

Mist rolled her eyes at the two and mooched off to the school. She didn't want to see them kissing, even though she was fine with it. Kicking the pebbles out of her way, she sighed. "Wish I had someone." She muttered.
